LINARS --- Help Menu Main Page
 
Table below describes following files, which are necessary or created for a run with LINARS:
Files with "bin" extensions are in binary-format, extensions with "txt" are ASCII files.

input files: main files needed for a new simulation
  • controll.txt
  • main file, if not present LINARS creates it with standard parameters
  • faces.txt
  • specifies boundary conditions
  • geom.txt
  • geometric coordinates
       
    special input files:  
  • controllPhaseLag.txt
  • file specifies phase lagged boundary conditions
       
    output/input files: LINARS creates this files for restart
  • geom.bin
  • coordinates of flow domain stored in binary format
    Delete this file if you have changed "geom.txt" file!
  • primVar.bin
  • primitive variables of the Navier-Stokes equations: ρ,u,v,w,p
  • primVarXXX.bin
  • variables of turbulence models. XXX...name of the used turbulence model
  • minDistToWall.bin
  • distance to any wall cell face, if not present LINARS creats it.
    Delete this file if you have changed "geom.txt" file!
    output/input files for a calculation with phase-lagged boundary conditions
  • plBlockData.bin
  • stored values of NS-equations and turbulence values of one time periode on each geometric periodic boundarys.
  • plIfaceData.bin
  • stored values of NS-equations and turbulence values of one time periode on each interface.
       
    output files: main files for post-processing
  • 2dOutputX.gr2
  • binary output for Rene's VIEWER in case of a quasi 3d calculation
    X... number of output timestep in case of an unsteady calculation

  • fieldX.gr2
  • binary output for Rene's VIEWER in case of a fully 3d calculation
    X... number of output timestep in case of an unsteady calculation

  • XXX.grf
  • ASCII-file for Paul's post-processor. XXX...arbitrary file name

  • tecplotX.plt
  • binary Tecplot© post-processor file
    X... number of output timestep in case of an unsteady calculation

  • stxSeqXMgY_WALL_TSZ.txt
  • ASCII output file of wall values
    X... number of boundary face specified in "faces.txt"
    Y... number of multigrid level
    Z... number of output timestep in case of an unsteady calculation

  • stxSeqXMgY_INLET.txt
  • ASCII output file of inlet values at inlet patch
    X... number of boundary face specified in "faces.txt"
    Y... number of multigrid level

  • stxSeqXMgY_OUTLET.txt
  • ASCII output file of inlet values at outlet patch
    X... number of boundary face specified in "faces.txt"
    Y... number of multigrid level

  • res_log.txt
