For the calculation of stress, temperature and vibration in turbomachinery the finite element analysis software ALGOR is applied. This software offers an integrated CAD/FEA environment which allows an efficient working with imported CAD models. The FEA packages available at the institute include static stress analysis with linear and nonlinear material models, natural frequency (modal) analysis, steady-state and transient heat transfer analysis as well as mechanical event simulation.
