The computational grids for the calculations with the inhouse Navier-Stokes
Codes are solely generated with tools developed at the Institute. The
idea to build the grids is to set up a mechanical vibration model, where
the grid nodes interact with springs and the grid nodes themselves are mass
points. This procedure can be applied to generate structured grids for
calculating the flow around linear turbine and compressor cascades with
periodic O-Type or C-Type grids. Furthermore, it can be used to set up
grids for tip-leakage computations where you have to mesh the region within
the blade itself. The programm is a powerful and easy to use GUI, based
on the portable C++ WXWindows Library, so it can be used on all Win32
and Unix platforms.
