3MW Compressor Station at the Institute for Thermal Turbomachinery and Machine Dynamics
A turbomachine with the highest possible efficiency needs a careful optimisation
including flow analysis, thermodynamics, vibration and material analysis. For this
reason the institute needs complex test facilities to experimentally investigate all
the different problems involved.
For the experimental investigations the main installation in the
laboratory is a 3MW compressor station located in the two basements of
the institute, fully acoustically isolated to the environment.
