Research Program S68:"Thermal Energy Production - Efficiency Improvement and Emission
Reduction of Thermal Power Plants
Program sponsored by the Austrian Science Foundation
FWF
Program Start: 1994; Program End: 1999
Program Coordinator: Prof. Dr. Herbert Jericha
Objective: This research program tries to achieve an efficiency improvement
and emission reduction of thermal power plants. This task is tackled on several
fronts by cooperation of six institutes from the two technical universities in
Austria in the field of turbomachinery, boiler design and energy. The research
program was proposed in 1989 and granted in 1993 for five years. Most institutes
started their work in 1994. A program evaluation was performed by the FWF in 1996.
Also, the program has strong support from the Austrian industry.
