Born 1962; Studies of Technical Physics at the Technical University in Graz, Master of Science (Diplom) 1987 with excellence; 1986 exchange student at the Institute for Physics, University of Zagreb, Croatia; PhD in Physics 1990, Technical University Graz, passed with excellence; 1986-1992 Assistant at the Institute for Experimental Physics, Technical University Graz; 1991-1992 Visiting Scientist , Institute for Biomedical Engineering Research, University of Akron, Akron, Ohio USA; 1992-1998 assistant at the Institute for Thermal Turbomachinery and Machine Dynamics, Technical University Graz, 1996 START Awards (START Program Y57 ), granted by the Austrian Chancellor and the Ministry for Research, 1998 Habilitation (Optical Metrology), since 1998 associate professor at TU Graz; since 2001 Head of the department for Metrology in Turbomachinery - Laser Optical Metrology; 2004 Research Award granted by the Government of Styria (Forschungspreis des Landes Steiermark) ; Member International Society for Optical Engineering SPIE and Austrian Physical Society OEPG

Activities

Author (co-author) of more than 80 contributions to books, journals and conference proceedings, Author (co-author) of about 30 reports and application notes, one patent, referee for different scientific journals and research organisations, member in the scientific advisory board K+ competence centre Virtual Vehicle (VIF), scientific mentor in the Science Park program (Science Park);

1995 until today: project head of 8 national funded projects (e.g. FWF), representing TU Graz in three thematic networks funded by the EU (laser diagnostics), member of the steering committee in one EU-project (optimization of turbomachinery), participant in different international exchange programs for researchers and university lecturers (recently e.g. ERASMUS mobility, lecturer at RWTH Aachen 2004/2005; research exchange program with the University of Zaragoza in 2004 and 2005)
